Selection Menu Idea :Lara:

GUI Tribal ideas :Lara:

We are having the idea of including aztec tribal designs of monster and mechs in the background of the GUI screen for the selection Menu. Here are some ideas. We will most likely use the front face tribals.

Final Weapon Designs :Lara:

Selectable weaponry for monsters :Lara:

Here's a quick list again to show the weapons we had in mind for the monster classes. A macuahuitl, which is an aztec sword for the melee version since it requires quick moving, a crossbow for the ranged/light version and a portable cannon for the heavy vesion.

Technical Specification for 3D modelling

To try and keep things organized across the board with the modelling everyone will have to follow these specs when creating their 3d models.

3D program - Maya 2014
Everyone should be using Maya 2014 to avoid any issues with files being changed in different versions of Maya.
Scale
To keep it simple when transferring models into unity set the working units in Maya to meters so that 1 Maya unit = 1 Meter
File Formats
Work files - For work in progress files inside Maya use Maya Binary(.mb)
Exported files for Unity - .FBX will be used, make sure it is set to FBX 2014 in the options menu when exporting.

Model progress rebuild and clean up (darren)

Here is a quick post showing the progress of the melee mech model. Over the course of the day I haven't made much progress on the mech model. This has been down to struggling to understand how to piece the torso pieces together and the necessary rebuilding which I have done to tackle the cleaning up of the geometry in those areas and making it easier for me to understand how to connect the areas I have struggled with together. For the most part the torso is close to completion and I'm predicting the only other area I will have problems with is the hands. I have also explored some quick weapon designs through a mixture of silhouettes, line work and painting. I need to collect some more research on different weapons that resemble what I thought would be appropriate for each class to enable the rough weapon shapes to take on more form. Below is all the work I listed above.
